I started watching Blood Lad on Saturday, actually I try to watch it on Thursday but the buffering was taking forever. I got annoyed with the video stalling every few minutes even when I refresh it. For that reason I waited a few days and decided to read the manga in the meantime.
Characters
Staz Blood
He is the boss of the Eastern district of the Demon World and also a vampire. Not only is he a vampire he is also a otaku that has an obsession with the Human World. Especially Japan because he reads the manga and plays games.
Yanagi Fuyumi
A high school girl ending up in the Demon World and being catch by Staz's men(enforcers). She was eaten by a carnivorous plant and became a ghost.
Deku
The one that called Staz to ask him what to do with Yanagi. He is also the leader of the enforcers in the Eastern District.
Saty
The owner of the cafe The Third Eye and seems not to speak. She also has three eyes.
Mame
Saty's partner and the one that does all the talking. He looks like a small panda with three eyes. He combines his power with Saty to see the past of a person.
Mimic Yoshida
He was able to join the Eastern Hell enforcers because of his ability to take the appearance. He is being used as Staz double so the real Staz will be able to travel to the Human World.

Episode 1
The main character is Staz who lives in hell and is also the boss of the Eastern District of the demon world. He has an obsession with the Human World especially Japan, he has a hug collection of manga, a game system, and music. He gets a called from one of his men, Deku, to ask with to do with a human girl that they found on their territory. Staz gets exited and tells Deku to bring the human girl to him, the girl is scared as the men took her to their boss. Meanwhile Staz doesn't know what to wear and starts trying random clothes. Deku takes the girl to Staz's room as he knocks, Staz tells him that he isn't ready. Deku opens the door and brings the girl in and saw Staz wearing heart shape sunglasses. As their eyes meet, he falls in love with her and he also has blood lust. Staz tells Deku to go away and not to disturb them, once he left Staz started asking her questions about manga, anime, and games.
Meanwhile outside, a vendor is selling walking plants and was caught by Staz's men and was asked by Deku if he had permission to be selling on their territory; which the vendor said he didn't know that he needed permission from the Eastern District Boss. He then asked if he can talk to the boss, but was denied since the boss was busy. With that said, the vendor reveals that he wants to kill the boss and his plants turn carnivorous plants that start attacking them. Back with Staz and the girl were having a one sided conversion(Staz was asking all the questions) and didn't let her ask her own questions. She wanted to asked him something when his cell phones rings. Deku calls Staz that they need help that one of his men(he mention name I can't remember) was getting killed. Staz hangs up on him, making the excuse that he was cutting off and couldn't hear him. The girl tells him that was bad not helping his friends that were in trouble and asking for his help. In the end the girl convince him to help his friends. Staz tells her to stay in his room and that they will continue to talk after he finished. He jumps out the window as he claims that he is going to help his friends. As he was falling, he didn't notices that a carnivorous plant was climbing up the building in a comical way, hitting it's head as it climbed.
Muttering to himself about him not being like his ancestor in only drinking blood from humans and how he was different from them. The plant man was declaring that he was going to take his head, but was ignored by Staz as he walks towards him. Deku warns him no to get close which he did and was attack by the plants as the plant man laughs. Staz used a technique to crush the heart of the plant man killing him in an instant. He heads back to his room with Deku and both were shock to find a carnivorous plant had eaten the girl as it spit out her bones. In a panic to save the girl Staz destroys the plant and reveals the school uniform that she was using.
The girl ends up on Staz bed naked and with a white triangle on her forehead meaning that she's dead. Staz also finds out that he no longer has blood lust or love for her as a ghost, but promise to bring her back to life. Staz and the girl are alone, he's looking through his manga collection(Dragonball) to find the answer to how to bring back to life. That's when she finally introduces herself to Staz as Yanagi Fuyumi(at this point she is wearing a shirt and boxers) and then asked what he was doing. He answered back that he was looking for answers. She looks at him as she thinks he using manga as reference and that he was going to come up with something stupid as gathering balls and make a wish. She tried to think of something that will help them. To her horror he said the same she was thinking he would say about find balls and making a wish.(reference to Dragonball) She rejected his idea and remember that a black curtain appear in front of her in the human world.
The scene changes where they are standing in front of the curtain(Staz claims that he needed to buy shampoo, but he just wanted to follow her) when Yanagi thank him which he dismiss and told her he was going to the Human World with her. They headed to the Cafe Third Eye to see Saty and Mame and ask them it is safe for Yanagi to go back to the human world as a ghost. Mame goes on top of Saty's head and starting doing their magic. They saw everything that happens and said it will be okay for her to go. Staz said he was going to the Human World with Yanagi, with that said Mame started panicking. Then he said to Staz that he couldn't leave the Eastern District of the Demon World since he was the boss. He cause more panic when he said that he will stop being the boss. Then Deku came in with another guy that wants to speak to Staz because he wants to join the Eastern District. Staz went up to the new guy and claim that he will be the new boss. It worked out when the new guy's hooded fell and reveal another Staz. The guy introduced himself as Mimic Yoshida and that he has the ability to change into anyone. In the end Staz was able to go to the Human World because Mimic was going to cover for him. That's where the episode ended.
